CHINA (ANTI-BRITISH DEMONSTRATIONS)
1. Mr. Martin Lindsay asked the Secre- tary of State for Foreign Affairs what satisfaction His Majesty's Government have received in respect of their repre- sentations about the anti-British demon- strations in China which occurred in January, 1948.
The Minister of State (Mr. Hector McNeil): I regret that I have as yet nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Brighton (Mr. Teeling) on 16th February.
Mr. William Teeling: Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the Con- sulate in Canton is functioning?
Mr. McNeil: It is.
